General Terms & conditions

1. General

Bus4u Iceland is a day tour operator offering charter bus service and airport transfer to/from Keflavik International Airport. A trusted cooperative contractor may occasionally provide transportation and other services.

These T&C are part of your contract with Bus4u Iceland for all services provided unless otherwise explicitly stated in writing. Please read them carefully as they set out our respective rights and obligations. By asking us to confirm your booking, we are entitled to assume that you have had the opportunity to read and have read these booking conditions and agree to them.

2. Bookings

Bookings must be sent in writing, by e-mail to info@bus4u.is and confirmed in writing to be valid. In order for us to provide the service requested and agreed, every detail of the booking must be included, e.g. the number of passengers, contact details, pickup time and location. Please check all details on your confirmation and documents carefully to ensure they are exactly as you requested. In the event of discrepancy, please contact Bus4u Iceland immediately as it may not be possible to make changes later.

3. Terms of payment

A non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total price must be made at time of booking.  You will subsequently receive a confirmation of booking.

Full payment (less deposit) shall reach Bus4u Iceland at least 6 weeks (42 days) prior to arrival of travellers or uppon confirmation of booking if done within 6 weeks (42 days).

If Bus4u Iceland does not receive payments 42 days prior to arrival, and other arrangements have not been agreed upon, it will be treated as a cancellation of the booking.

For all bookings made within 42 days prior to arrival, a full payment must be made at the time of the booking.

4. Pricing & extras

Bus4u Iceland reserves the right to change prices without notice due to unexpected changes, such as government taxes, currency fluctuations or other cost increases that affect our prices. Obvious typographical errors in documentation or invoices may be corrected without prior notice.

Prices are based on the size of vehicle not number of passengers.
If a luggage trailer is needed Bus4u Iceland charges extra per day for the trailer.

Extra fee is charged on major public holidays (New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Day, Whit Sunday, 17 June, Commerce day (first Monday in August), Christmas Eve (after 12:00 on 24th December) and New Year’s Eve (after 12:00 on 31st December).

Any road, parking and tunnel fees that apply to the transfers are charged as extra. A special km price is charged for driving on highland roads.

The driver (and guide) should be provided with dining during the tour and a single room if the tour requires an overnight stay outside of Reykjavik.
If dining is not provided during the tour an extra fee of 8.500 ISK per day for driver/guide each will be charged.

A coach charter vehicle with a driver, road fee and 11% VAT is included in all our offers unless stated otherwise.

Unless specifically stated, guide service, meals, refreshments, admissions to sites, museums or exhibitions are not included.

5. Cancellation

All cancellations must be sent to Bus4u Iceland in writing, by letter or e-mail, and need to be confirmed by Bus4u Iceland in order to be valid. In conformity with business practices within the Icelandic travel industry, we charge cancellation fees on the total price.

The local currency in Iceland is ISK and all payments are converted to ISK upon receipt. We also refund in ISK and the equivalent amount in other currencies refunded. Bus4u Iceland does not charge any booking or transaction fees and can not be held liable to any loss in currency exchange during transactions, nor any third party transaction fees that may occur at the time of payment and/or refund.

6. Cancellation charges

The following cancellation charges apply to all bookings

Time of cancellation

 

More than 2 weeks (15 days) 10%

​

2 weeks (14 days) and more than 1 weeks (8 days) 50%

​

1 week (7 days) and more than 72 hours 75%

​

Less than 72 hours 100%

 

In case of “no shows” (passengers that do not arrive and have not cancelled the service) the total amount is charged and is non-refundable afterwards.

7. General liability

Bus4u Iceland reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries, or timetables without notice, if necessary, for example in case of weather, road conditions or vehicle malfunction.

Bus4u Iceland assumes no liability for injury, loss, expenses, damage, accident, delay, changes in schedules caused by weather conditions, or any irregularities or inconveniences which may occur either by reason of defect or any other cause beyond control of Bus4u Iceland. This limitation of liability also applies to all claims of any description whatsoever which results from any of the following:

  • The act(s) and/or omission(s) of the traveller(s) affected or any member(s) of their party or.

  • The act(s) and/or omission(s) of a third party not connected with the provision of the services and which were unforeseeable or unavoidable.

  • Circumstances beyond Bus4u Iceland control as defined under Force Majeure.

 

In case of any changes in flights (domestic and international), the customer bears responsibility for the payment of any additional fees and costs because of the changes.

All the above losses/expenses are the personal liability of the traveller. We advise all customers to have a valid travel insurance.

8. Force Majeure

Bus4u Iceland disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accidents, sickness or changes in schedules resulting from causes beyond the control of Bus4u Iceland. Such causes include, but are not limited to, acts of nature, labour disputes, pandemic, significant risks to human health such as the outbreak of serious disease at the travel destination or any other irregularity beyond Bus4u Iceland control. We reserve the right to alter routes, itineraries or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise. In case of any changes in flights (domestic and international), the travellers shall pay any additional cost caused by this, at the time the service is provided (extra hotel nights, meals, transfers etc.). Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions, we regret we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our contract with you is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of "force majeure".

We advise all traveller(s) to have comprehensive travel insurance to meet all contingencies

9. Luggage

During normal handling, your baggage may show evidence of wear and tear. Bus4u Iceland does not take responsibility for minor cuts, scratches, and dents nor for items that protrude from traveling bags, such as retractable handles, wheels, straps, and luggage carts. Furthermore, Bus4u Iceland does not cover losses of lost luggage or other items that are left onboard the vehicle.

10. Photographs

Bus4u Iceland can provide photograph‘s of the type of vehicle being supplied, either by request or on our website. In this case the photograph supplied is illustrative only and may be a different make/model with different livery and appearance to that actually supplied to the booking.

11. Other

Passengers are required by Icelandic law to wear seatbelts while on board the bus. Passengers not complying with the law may be requested to leave the vehicle.
Iceland is known for its ever-changing weather, which can often be quite unpredictable. We always recommend bringing warm layers, gloves, hat, scarf, sturdy shoes or hiking boots and wind/waterproof clothes for your visit to Iceland. Don´t forget your swimsuit, no matter what season.

12. Confidentiality

All personal information is confidential and will not be given or sold to a third party

13. Governing Law

Any dispute or claims arising out of or in connection with this agreement or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed and construed by the laws of Iceland. The parties irrevocably agree that the courts of Iceland shall have jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with this agreement or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
